Yesterday’s Homestead

Yesterday’s Homestead

An old homestead near where my grandparents met that has been left as a reminder of how we went about taming the West.

100 Theme Challenge: Gray
Mixed Decks Deal: desperation, push, firmly, dirt, rail

I am desperation.
I am gray.
The final push of hope
As dirt blows into my coffee
Through the broken door.
A ghost of yesterday
That seemed so firmly rooted
In the earth
Holds on by rusting rails.
I am desperation.
I am gray.
