Author Appearances

I love to make appearances as an author. I’m still on the fan side of things and love it when I have a chance to meet one of my favorite authors.

Currently Booked:

You can email me at chaggerty99@gmail.com to book me for an appearance.

I do:

  • Classroom Visits (My favorite–I taught high school language arts and Shotokan karate for sixteen years.)
  • Workshops (Second favorite.)
  • Assemblies (I spin fire.)
  • Speaking Engagements (Book club luncheon, anyone?)
  • Shakespeare in the Park (Not really, but I could always start.)

Topics:

  • Writing Fight Scenes
  • Five Senses and Synesthesia
  • Poetry Poker (Play a few rounds and leave decks for the class.)
  • Writing Process
  • Short Scenes for Drama Classes
  • Small-Time Author’s Life (or Waiting for Hollywood to Call)
  • Literary Devices (Do you know what a kenning is?)

As a teacher, I have a wide range of topics that I can prepare for any language arts class. Yep, I can teach sentence patterns and verbals. Give me a digital ring and we’ll make it a date.

  1. Hi Christine, My name is Janice and I was at the LTUE this year. I would like to invite you to come to our school on May 7th to our Career Day event. My school is Heritage School in Provo. You can take an online tour of the school at http://www.heritagertc.org . The students at the school are ages 12-18. The school is also a treatment center. They are wonderful kids; just had some tough trials to go through. If this is something you could fit in your schedule we would love to have you. It is scheduled for 8:45 till 11:00 am. Please give a call at 801-427-3938. Thanks Janice
